Pride Sit Just One Spot Shy of Top in 2025 GNAC Preseason Poll

GNAC RELEASE

WESTON, Mass. – Coming off their fourth consecutive 20-win season, the Regis College women's volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.

The Pride earned 174 total votes and three first-place nods, finishing just behind preseason favorite Lasell University, who topped the poll with 190 votes.

Regis finished the 2024 campaign with an impressive 22-9 overall record and a 13-2 mark in GNAC play, continuing a run of sustained success under head coach Josh Anderson. With a strong core of returners and a promising group of newcomers, the Pride are poised to once again contend for the conference title.

Leading the returners is junior outside hitter Avery Mola (Cheshire, Conn.), a 2024 GNAC Second Team All-Conference selection. Mola powered the offense last season with a team-high 288 kills and will once again play a key role on the front line.

She'll be joined by rising sophomore Alexandra Rivera (Bristol, Conn.), who made an immediate impact in her debut season by leading the team with 566 assists. Anchoring the defense is junior Grace Fabiano (Greenland, N.H.), who led the Pride with 69 blocks last season. The Pride will also welcome eight newcomers to the 2025 roster, adding valuable depth and competition across all positions.

Regis opens the season just down the road at Brandeis University on Friday, August 29, with a doubleheader against the host Judges at 4 p.m., followed by a matchup with WPI at 6 p.m. The Pride begin GNAC play on Saturday, September 13, in a tri-match at Mitchell College, taking on Simmons University and the host Mariners.
