FULL GNAC RELEASE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's soccer team will begin its postseason run this Saturday, November 1, when the third-seeded Pride host the sixth-seeded Norwich University Cadets in the GNAC Quarterfinals at 1 p.m. at Regis Stadium.

A dominant 5-1 victory over Lasell University on the final day of the regular season propelled the Pride into third place — their best regular-season finish since joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 2017. Regis closed the regular season with an 8-9-1 overall record and an 8-4 mark in GNAC play, entering the postseason having won four of their last five matches, including a 3-1 victory over Norwich just six days ago.

The Pride's offensive success has come from a balanced attack, with seven different players recording three or more goals this season. Michael Champagne (Wellesley, Mass.) leads the team with five goals and two assists, while Nolan McMahon (White River Junction, Vt.) has been a dynamic playmaker, tallying a team-high 13 points on four goals and five assists.

In net, sophomore goalkeeper Chris Alcon (Cartagena, Spain) has anchored the Pride defense, recording seven wins, four shutouts, and 49 saves on the season.

Defensively, the Pride are led by senior captain William Comeiro (Woburn, Mass.), who has started all 18 games this year and has been the cornerstone of the backline. Joining him as the only other player to start every game this season is Haroun Mafhoum (Bellingham, Mass.), who has been a consistent force in the midfield, contributing three goals and three assists while providing leadership and stability throughout the campaign.

Entering the year ranked seventh in the GNAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Pride have already exceeded expectations, climbing into the conference's top three. With momentum on their side and home-field advantage, Regis will look to continue its strong form and make a deep postseason run, beginning with Saturday's quarterfinal matchup against Norwich.
