Pride Fall to Top-Seeded Saints in GNAC Quarterfinals
BOSTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's lacrosse team closed out their season this afternoon with a 13-7 loss to top-seeded Emmanuel College in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinals. The Pride wrap up their 2025 campaign with a GNAC postseason appearance, finishing with a 9-9 overall record and a 6-5 mark in conference play.
Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded a hat trick and added an assist, while Serenity Ayala (North Brookfield, Mass.) scored twice for the Pride. Maddie Sainato (Wilmington, Mass.) and Teal Galligan (Acushnet, Mass.) also found the back of the net in the effort. Defensively, four different members of the Pride recorded two caused turnovers.
For the Saints, Madeline Wright (three goals, two assists) and Dejaliyah Srimouksavanh (two goals, three assists) led the offense with five points each. In goal, Isabella Thomas made three saves to secure the win.
How it Happened:
- Mason put the Pride on the board early, scoring less than two minutes in to give her team a quick 1-0 lead. However, the Saints responded with a pair of goals just 20 seconds apart, taking a 2-1 advantage after 12:34 of play.
- Ayala tied the game at the 9:28 mark, but the Saints answered with two more goals to end the first quarter ahead, 4-2.
- Emmanuel dominated the second quarter, netting four unanswered goals to extend their lead and head into halftime up 8-2.
- The Pride came out strong after the break, with Sainato scoring quickly, followed by Ayala's second goal to trim the deficit to four less than three minutes into the third. However, Wright and Srimouksavanh combined for four goals to close out the quarter, pushing the Saints' lead to 12-4 heading into the final fifteen minutes of action.
- The Saints added another tally before Mason found Galligan to make it a 13-5 game with 7:25 remaining.
- Mason tried to spark a comeback, scoring at the 2:29 mark before Molly Higgins (Weymouth, Mass.) won the ensuing draw and quickly found Mason again for her third goal just 12 seconds later, cutting the deficit to 13-7. However, that score would hold over the final two minutes, securing the Saints' spot in the GNAC semifinals.
