Pride Face Norwich in Dual Meet

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Regis College men's swim and dive team traveled to Vermont on Saturday to face off against the reigning champions, Norwich University. The Cadets secured a 148–68 victory over the Pride.

Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the way for Regis with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:05.61 to edge his Norwich opponent by just 0.55 seconds.

Four members of the Pride earned second-place finishes throughout the meet. Gavin Olsen (South Portland, Maine) opened the day with a runner-up performance in the 1000 freestyle (11:51.37), followed by Kim, who took second in the 200 IM (2:11.03). Cody Werner narrowly missed the top spot in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 54.99, while Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) posted a personal best of 1:01.42 in the 100 backstroke, earning second place and moving into 10th on the program's all-time list.

The relay team of Olsen, Kim, Nagaraj, and Werner closed out the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 3:37.44.

On the diving board, Josh Dion (Weston, Mass.) claimed the top spot in the five-dive portion with a score of 117.35, followed by Michael Zammuto (Burlington, Mass.), who finished second with 108.55 points. The two swapped positions in the six-dive portion, as Zammuto edged out Dion with scores of 140.60 to 134.30.

The Pride return to their home pool next Friday, October 31, when they host Plymouth State at 6 p.m.
