Men's Hoop Extends Winning Streak on Senior Day

WESTON, Mass. – Regis University extended its winning streak with a 98-88 victory over Lasell University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Higgins Court.

Russell Rau (Westminster, Mass.) led the Pride with a dominant performance, finishing with 30 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. He shot 10-for-14 from the field and 6-for-10 from beyond the arc. Aamyr Sullivan (Middletown, N.Y.) added 19 points, one rebound, and six assists, while Dashon Smith-Adams contributed 19 points, three rebounds, and shot an impressive 6-for-7 from the field.

The game started with Regis taking an early lead as Tate Pike (Bellingham, Mass. ) opened with a layup, followed by a three-pointer from Rau and another layup from Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill.), putting the Pride up 7-4. Regis extended its lead with a 4-1 run, making it 11-6. The Lasers closed the gap to within one point at the 12-minute mark thanks to a three-pointer from Conan McCusker, but Regis responded with two consecutive three-pointers from Rau, followed by two free throws from Harvey to lead 37-28.

Esmer Madesko answered with a layup for Lasell to cut the lead to seven, but a three-pointer from Sullivan pushed the lead back to 40-30. Regis maintained its momentum and finished the first half with a 49-37 advantage.

In the second half, Regis quickly extended its lead to 20 points. However, the Lasers began to rally, closing the gap to 16 points after back-to-back layups from Andy Madesko. Lasell's offensive momentum continued late in the game, fueled by multiple free throws and a three-pointer from Che Hanks. A tip-in layup from Daniel Edmonds brought Lasell within six at 94-88, but Regis sealed the win with clutch free throws from Sullivan and Rau, finishing with a 98-88 final score.

Regis (7-12, 2-6 GNAC) is scheduled to travel to New England College on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7:00 p.m.

Lasell (15-5, 8-1 GNAC) is set to travel to face Johnson and Wales University on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
