Men's Soccer Takes Care of Lasell 5-1; Clinch Home Field Advantage

NEWTON, Mass. -- On October 29, 2025 the Regis College men's soccer team delivered a commanding performance against Lasell University, securing a 5-1 win in their regular season finale. The victory improved Regis's season record to 8-9-1, while Lasell fell to 4-12-2.

The Pride's goal scorers on the day included William Comeiro (Woburn, Mass.), Agu Silva-Olivera (Lunenburg, Mass.), Michael Champagne (Wellesley, Mass.), Nolan McMahon (White River Junction, Vt.), and Rafael Morales (Manatí, Puerto Rico). Cade Bretton (Burlington, Vt.), Joey Davilla (Bristol, Conn.), McMahon, and Champagne each contributed assists in the win.

How it Happened
Regis set the tone early in the game, with William Comeiro opening the scoring in the 11th minute finding the back of the net after the ball pinballed around the 18-yard box, assisted by Bretton. Just three minutes later, Agu Silva-Olivera doubled the lead with a goal, beautifully assisted with a lay-off by McMahon. Regis would head into the half up 2-0.

In the second half, Regis continued their offensive onslaught. Michael Champagne would capitalize on another set piece, scoring an unassisted goal in the 56th minute, extending the lead to 3-0. Lasell managed to respond briefly when Brent Bickel scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute.

Regis would quickly regain control though, as Nolan McMahon found the net in the 66th minute, assisted by Michael Champagne and Joey Davila, making it 4-1. Rafael Morales would round out the victory for Regis with an unassisted goal in the 87th minute, securing the 5-1 victory for the Pride. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Regis rounded out their season 4-1 over their last five games to secure a home Great Northeast Atheltic Conference (GNAC) playoff game.
  • The Pride's five goals today mark their fourth time scoring five or more in a game this season.
