BOSTON, Mass. – Regis College men's volleyball traveled to Boston for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals against top-seeded Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Leopards swept the Pride in three sets, bringing an end to their 2025 campaign.
Jalen Watt (South Hadley, Mass.) led the Pride with six kills, while John Nangle (Lowell, Mass.) added five. Tyrell Bucasas dished out 13 assists and contributed five digs in the effort.
For Wentworth, Jacob Waga recorded 11 kills, while Alem Dubcak tallied 10 kills and three blocks. Josh Milke led the Leopards with 19 assists, and three players recorded four blocks each on the night.
How it Happened:
- Bonica's kill, followed by a service ace, gave the Pride a 6-4 lead before Wentworth responded with a pair of runs (5-0, 4-0) to take a 15-10 advantage. A kill from Nangle briefly halted their momentum, but the home team answered with another surge, securing a 25-18 first-set victory.
- A Valdes ace capped a 4-0 run, doubling up the Leopards early and helping the Pride maintain a slight lead. Regis held a one point lead at 12-11 until Wentworth erupted for 11 unanswered points, fueled by a trio of kills from Dubcak and a pair of blocks. That dominant stretch propelled the Leopards to a commanding 25-10 win in set two.
- The Pride stayed close early in the third set, with a Leopards' service error and a block from Watt and Eddie Djatcha keeping them within two. However, a 5-1 Wentworth run extended the lead to 15-10. The Leopards allowed just five more points, with Waga dominating at the net to seal a 25-15 set win and a match sweep, securing their spot in the GNAC championship.
