Regis Women’s Swim & Dive Collect Road Win Over Monks
STANDISH, Maine – The Regis College women's swimming and diving team earned a 99.5–82.5 victory over the Saint Joseph's College (Maine) Monks last night in Standish. The meet featured several swimmers competing in their primary strokes for the first time this season.
Sophia Caruso (Haverhill, Mass.) led the way with a top finish in the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 2:05.03. She was followed by Ava Hubster (Crown Point, Ind.) and Bri Letourneau of Saint Joseph's, who touched the wall simultaneously at 2:23.22. Caruso later claimed first in the 500 freestyle, setting a team season-best time of 5:59.22.
Sophia Nylin (Malden, Mass.) brought home the next first-place finish, posting a 1:26.03 in the 100 breaststroke, followed by Margaret Rivard (Springfield, N.H.) in 1:29.89. Nylin also earned nine points as the lone competitor in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 3:20.81.
The Pride return home on Friday, November 21, when they host Gordon College, Elms College, and Simmons University at the Regis Pool. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
