Martone Collects GNAC Weekly Honor
WESTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced this afternoon that junior goalkeeper Allayna Martone (Elkridge, Md.) has been named Goalkeeper of the Week following a standout performance in the Pride's season opener. The honor marks the first weekly award of her collegiate career.
Martone tallied 10 saves in a tightly contested 2-1 setback against Fitchburg State University, finishing with an .833 save percentage. She came up with several key stops to keep the match within reach, including a diving save late in the first half that preserved a scoreless tie heading into the break.
Martone and the Pride return to action on Thursday, September 4 when they host Eastern Connecticut State at 4 p.m. at Regis Stadium.
