Regis Women’s Cross Country Gears Up for GNAC Championships

FULL GNAC RELEASE

WESTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its Women's Cross Country Pre-Championship Poll this afternoon, with Regis College coming in seventh with 60 points, just four points behind cross-town rival Lasell College.

The Pride will return to Vermont this Sunday, November 2, for the GNAC Championship hosted by Norwich University.

Leading the way for Regis is Jonnie Charest (Methuen, Mass.), whose senior leadership has guided the Pride and who has consistently finished among the team's top runners throughout the season. She led the Pride the last time they ran this course with a time of 27:49.30. Oliva Mmamelu (Waltham, Mass.) joins Charest as the team's only other veteran runner, providing consistency throughout the season. Lindsey Ferris (Fairfax, Vt.) leads the first-year runners as she has consistently improved and has shown great promise as part of a young core helping to bolster the team's depth.

The Pride are eager to leave their mark at the GNAC Championships this weekend. With a blend of steady leadership and emerging talent, they aim to move up the standings and highlight the growth and potential of their program.
