Park’s Second-Half Strike Lifts Regis Past Saint Joseph’s (ME), 1–0

STANDISH, ME — The Pride's mens's soccer team was back in action this Saturday, on the road to take on the Monks of SJC in another GNAC matchup. One goal was all the Pride needed as they came out on top of this one 1-0.

Senior Callum Park (Providenciales, Turks & Caicos) provided the winner for the Pride, unassisted.

How it Happened

The opening half was a physical, back-and-forth battle as both teams worked to gain control in the midfield. Regis generated a few promising looks, while the defense stayed organized and limited Saint Joseph's to low-percentage chances. Neither side could find the back of the net before halftime though, sending the match into the break scoreless.

The Pride broke through midway through the second, When Park found space on the right side of the box and fired a low shot inside the far post to put Regis ahead in the 72nd minute. Goalkeeper Chris Alcon (Cartagena, Spain) anchored the Pride defense with several key stops down the stretch, including a timely point blank save in the 88th minute to sure up the win for his side.
