Alcon Named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week
WESTON, Mass. – Chris Alcon (Cartagena, Spain) earned his first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week honor following a standout performance in net for the Pride. This marks the first goalkeeper award of his career and third GNAC weekly honor overall, after earning two Rookie of the Week recognitions last season.
Alcon was outstanding between the posts, posting a perfect 1.000 save percentage while leading Regis to a pair of conference wins. He tallied seven saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over Saint Joseph's (Maine) after playing a scoreless half in the 6-1 win against Mitchell. Across 135 minutes of action, Alcon did not allow a single goal, helping the Pride to a 2-0 week in GNAC play.
Alcon and the Pride are back on the road tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21, when they make the short trip to Emmanuel College to take on the Saints.
