Pride Fall Sports Welcome New Assistant Coaches

WESTON, Mass. – With their student-athletes about to report to campus for preseason practice, three fall teams will feature new assistant coaches on their respective staffs, all of them with collegiate playing experience.

After one year away from Regis College, Luke Ayotte returns to the men's soccer program as assistant coach. Ayotte was a four-year letterwinner at Regis from 2019 to 2022, appearing in 41 matches, including 30 starts. His first career assist came on the game-tying goal with 51 seconds left in first half against Anna Maria Sept. 11, 2021, plus he assisted on the game-winning goal at Emmanuel Oct. 27, 2021. He scored his first career goal with the game-winning tally at Lesley Sept. 7, 2022, plus he picked up two more assists during his senior season.

After graduation, Ayotte was hired at Big Belly Solar working as an accounts receivable specialist within their finance department. He held that position for one year before deciding to return to Regis College and attend graduate school. Ayotte received his bachelor's degree in global business management from Regis College in May 2023.

Angie Caldwell also returns to Regis College, joining the women's soccer program as assistant coach. Caldwell played at Regis from 2018-2021, appearing in 30 matches in net, including 10 starts. In over 1,600 minutes as the Pride goalie, she posted an 8-7-1 record with one shutout, a 1.90 goals against average, and a .688 save percentage with 75 total saves. In her senior season, she was named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week Oct. 18, 2021, after making seven saves during the second half and overtime in a 2-2 tie at Elms.

After graduation, Caldwell went into coaching at all levels from grassroots to college ID camps. She also was the Assistant Youth Programs Director at Seacoast United Soccer Club in Epping, N.H., where she set up tournaments and camps for not only soccer but the other youth sports the organization provided. Caldwell, an Academic All-GNAC honoree in the 2021-22 academic year, received her bachelor's degree in global business management with minors in data analytics and sports management. She is pursuing her master's degree in strategic communications.

Lily Daly joins the Regis Pride field hockey program as assistant coach after a stellar playing career. She was a member of the field hockey team at Assumption University in Worcester, Mass., helping the team win the Northeast-10 Conference championship in 2021 and advance to the NCAA Division II national semifinals three times (2021, 2022, 2023). In her final season, she led the team with 17 goals and 10 assists for a school-record 44 total points, including five game-winning goals. Daly was selected Third Team All-Conference after the 2023 season.

Before starting at Regis, Daly spent the 2024 spring semester as an educational assistant at Ahern Middle School in Foxborough, Mass., assisting the lead teacher in managing classroom activities and maintaining an organized, safe, and inclusive learning environment. In addition, she prepared and distributed classroom materials, including handouts, assignments, and assessments. Daly completed her bachelor's degree in human services and rehabilitation at Assumption University in May 2023.

Regis College sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
