Men’s Tennis Loses to Roger Williams
BRISTOL, R.I. – Regis College fell to Roger Williams University, 7-2, Monday in a non-conference men's collegiate tennis match at the Roger Williams Tennis Courts.
The Hawks earned the first two points in doubles, but Regis's number two doubles team of Mitchell Weiner (Plano, Texas) and Owen Pelissier (Hingham, Mass.) battled their opponents before finally losing, 8-6. At number one doubles, Andrew Bienvenu (Baton Rouge, La.) and Sebastian Torres (San Juan, Puerto Rico) picked up the Pride's first point with an 8-5 victory.
Roger Williams (1-1) clinched the overall contest with a victory by Ryan Schuck at number four singles. At number one singles, in the only match to require more than two sets, Bienvenu rallied from a first set loss to win the second set, 6-3, and the super-tiebreaker, 10-7, for his second victory in as many matches.
The Regis College men's tennis team continues its practice schedule to prepare for the spring competition season.
