Bodhidatta Earns Second GNAC Defensive Player of the Week Recognition
WINTHROP, Mass, -- Jay Bodhidatta (Bangkok, Thailand) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after another stellar performance on the backline.
Bodhidatta anchored the Pride's defense, averaging an impressive 3.91 digs per set (43 total) across three matches in a 2-1 week for Regis. The Bangkok native recorded double-digit digs in all three contests, tallying 17 against Rivier, 12 against Wentworth, and 14 in a second matchup against Rivier to close out the week.
Leading the GNAC in both total digs (275) and digs per set (2.96), the sophomore also ranks among the top-10 nationally in Division III in these categories.
Bodhidatta and the Pride are back in action on Thursday, hosting Emerson College at 7 p.m. at Higgins Court.
