Benvegnu Nabs GNAC Rookie of the Week Honors
WESTON, Mass. – After a strong week for Regis College women's soccer, Julia Benvegnu (Watertown, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, marking the first such honor of her collegiate career.
Benvegnu helped lead the Pride to a perfect 2–0 week with standout offensive performances against Dean and Elms. The first-year forward opened the week with two goals — including the game-winner — in a 5–0 shutout at Dean on October 22. She continued her strong play with an assist in Regis' 2–1 road victory over Elms on October 25.
Benvegnu and the Pride will close out their regular-season schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28, when they host Saint Joseph's College (Maine) at 7 p.m.
