Regis Sweeps NEC 7-1

HENNIKER, N.H. – Regis College earned a 7-1 victory over New England College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup on Saturday Oct. 26, at Don Melander Field.

The Pride were able to find the back of the net with six different goal scorers. In the 32nd minute, Avary Hall (Bloomsfield Hills, Mich.) sent a pass to Alexis Sherry (Salem, Mass. ) for the first goal of the game. Just six minutes later, Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) was met with a cross from Sherry to find the back of the net, leading 2-0 into halftime.

Janet Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) extended the lead unassisted in the 49th minute after gaining possession shortly after a shot from NEC. Less than eight minutes following Amasa-Titus's goal, Hall placed the ball in the back of the net to lead, 4-0.

With Hall's goal, she has broken the single season's goal record, scoring 14 goals this season so far.

Regis scored three more goals in the remainder of the second half featuring goals from Maeve Glavin (Norwood, Mass.), Sienna Santiago (Brewster, N.Y.), and Sherry assisted by Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.). Isabella MacGregor was able to find the back of the net for the Pilgrims to close the deficit to six, finishing with a final of 7-1.

The Pride led the Pilgrims in shots 34-5 and 14-4 in corner kicks.

Regis (8-7-4), 6-4-4 GNAC) is scheduled to host Elms College on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7:00 p.m. at Regis Stadium.
