Stephanie Beatrice, Samantha Gevry Selected CSC Academic All-District

FULL COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATORS WOMEN'S TENNIS ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM RELEASE

WESTON, Mass. – Thanks to a combination of exemplary academic performance and consistency on the tennis court, recent graduate Stephanie Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.) and rising senior Samantha Gevry (Dudley, Mass.) have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Division III Women's Tennis Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday, May 14, by the national organization.

One of the team captains during the 2023-24 season, Beatrice earned First Team All-GNAC honors in doubles after teaming with Kiana Thompson for a perfect 7-0 record, all at number one doubles. Helping the Pride advance to three straight GNAC Women's Tennis Tournament championship matches, Beatrice concluded her collegiate career with 17 singles victories and 29 doubles wins, tied for 10th on the Regis all-time list for doubles victories by an individual.

Beatrice received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and humanities this past Saturday, finishing with a 3.91 cumulative grade point average. She is a two-time Academic All-GNAC and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete selection, and she played a major role as the women's tennis team received the Burling Cup for Team Academic Excellence in April 2023.

Gevry was also a team captain this past season, completing the year with four singles wins and six doubles victories. All four singles victories were in straight sets, with Gevry losing just six games combined in those matches. She also teamed with Harmony Lopez for key doubles victories against Simmons and Colby-Sawyer College during the GNAC Tournament.

Also a member of the squad that received the Burling Cup for Team Academic Excellence last year, Gevry is a nursing major with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average after the Spring 2024 semester. She is a two-time Second Team All-GNAC selection in singles and was a First Team All-GNAC honoree in doubles in the fall of 2023, and she earned Academic All-GNAC recognition last year.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, including Beatrice, will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4, 2024.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division III Academic All-America® programs.

The Regis College women's tennis team completed the 2023-24 season with a 6-5 overall record and defeated Simmons University on the road to reach the title match of the GNAC Women's Tennis Tournament for the third straight year.
