Catalanotto Nabs Fourth Rookie of the Week Honor
WESTON, Mass. – First-year standout Eva Catalanotto (Cheshire, Conn.) continues to make her mark in her rookie campaign, earning her fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honor — the most in the conference this season.
The Cheshire native put together an impressive all-around week for the Pride, averaging 2.28 kills per set while hitting .250, adding 16 total blocks (0.89 per set), and serving up 10 aces. At Rhode Island College, she delivered one of her best performances of the year, posting a career-high 14 kills to go along with eight total blocks and several clutch points that helped push the match to five sets.
In Saturday's tri-match at Keene State, Catalanotto remained consistent, hitting .350 with nine kills, three blocks, and three aces in the Pride's 3-1 win over Southern Maine. She closed the day with another strong effort against the host Owls, recording 11 kills, four blocks, and two aces in another hard-fought five-set match.
Catalanotto and the Pride return to Higgins Court this Wednesday, October 22, when they welcome Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a 7 p.m. GNAC matchup.
