Pride’s Balanced Attack Fuels Sixth Straight Win
FRANKLIN, Mass. — Regis College women's volleyball continued their road trip this evening with a visit to Dean College to face the Bulldogs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. A balanced offensive effort propelled the Pride to a 3-0 sweep, improving their record to 12-7 overall and 8-0 in GNAC competition.
Four members of the Pride recorded four or more kills, led by Beatriz Paulo (Newton, Mass.) who posted seven kills, three aces, and three digs. Alexandra Rivera (Bristol, Conn.) led the team with 13 assists, while Isabella Seccareccio (Medford, Mass.) recorded a team-high nine digs.
For the Bulldogs, Maddy Semour tallied seven kills and six digs for a team-best seven points, while Skylar Raskevitz led defensively with a game-high 10 digs.
How it Happened
Back-to-back kills from Beatriz Paulo put the Pride ahead 12-10, but five unanswered points swung the momentum to the Bulldogs, giving them a 15-12 lead. The Pride responded with an impressive eight-point run, and although a Bulldog kill briefly slowed their momentum, a final strike from Ayla Albers (San Diego, Calif.) closed out the set, 25-18, giving the Pride a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Pride dominated the second set, 25-6, powered by a trio of kills from Albers, two service aces, and additional kills from Paulo to put them one set away from victory.
Behind a pair of early kills from Avery Mola (Cheshire, Conn.) and Elle Borgan (Beaufort, S.C.), the Pride raced out to an 11-4 lead before a Bulldog kill briefly halted their momentum. Mola later recorded her fifth kill of the set to double up the Bulldogs, 16-8. That cushion allowed the Pride to close things out, as first-years Borgan and Alana Byard (Brooklyn, N.Y.) capped the frame with back-to-back kills before a Bulldog error sealed the 25-10 set and match sweep for the Pride.

- The Pride's first-years continue to impress with strong offensive performances, as Beatriz Paulo and Eva Catalanotto (Chesire, Conn.) led the way with 10.5 and 7.5 points, respectively, posting hitting percentages of .500 and .571. Catalanotto also contributed defensively with two solo blocks and one assisted block in the victory.
