Internships and Career Placement

We are dedicated to guiding Regis College students through a transformative career development process, connecting academic excellence with experiential learning opportunities. Our mission is to launch compassionate leaders and skilled professionals who contribute directly to the vitality and well-being of local and global communities.

For every college student, selecting a major is critical to finding the path right for them after graduation. At Regis, we let your passions be the guide and offer expert guidance to find the career that is best for you.

With access to internships at some of the world's most cutting-edge and innovative companies, the university's Center for Internships and Career Development works to ensure that your college career provides you with the best first-hand experience to discover your purpose.

Assistance is provided throughout your college experience. The center:

  • Assists you in finding a career relevant to your major
  • Helps you to find critical internships prior to graduation (every student is required to complete one internship to receive their degree)
  • Connects you to an online career development program beginning your first year
  • Produces a professional development seminar and several recruiting events throughout the academic year
  • Offers one-on-one counseling

Center for Internships and Career Development Four-Year Career Plan

  • YEAR 1: EXPLORE

    1. Meet with the Center for Internships and Career Development to discuss future goals.
    2. Complete a skills assessment.
    3. Log in to your Handshake account for access to jobs, internship opportunities, and valuable career tools.
    4. Get involved with campus activities, clubs, and community service programs.
    5. Create your base resume to begin your job search.
    6. Set up an appointment with the center to identify career options. 
  • YEAR 2: DISCOVER

    1. Meet with the Center for Internships and Career Development to clarify career plans.
    2. Build your online brand by creating a LinkedIn account and ensure social media accounts are appropriate and professional.
    3. Practice introducing yourself and making connections by attending social events on campus.
    4. Seek leadership positions in clubs, athletics, and college and community organizations.
    5. Attend career and professional development opportunities on campus and in the community. 
  • YEAR 3: CONNECT

    1. Gather information on summer learning opportunities like study abroad and community projects.
    2. Secure an internship and keep track of your accomplishments. Schedule a meeting for resume review.
    3. If attending graduate school, start researching admission requirements and preparing for standardized tests (GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.).
    4. Build practical experience through academic research and class projects.
    5. Begin asking faculty and professional staff for permission to use them as a professional reference. 
  • YEAR 4: ACHIEVE

    1. Polish your resume and have it reviewed by the Center for Internships and Career Development.
    2. Check Handshake and other job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed.com, etc.) regularly for professional job postings.
    3. Make an appointment for a mock interview with the Center for Internships and Career Development or practice interviewing with a visiting employer, friends, or family.
    4. Gather information and contacts by attending Job Fairs and Workshops by building your professional network through LinkedIn.
    5. Complete applications for graduate or professional schools early.
